A finding chart for UU Col

SkyView image of UU Col (see important notes).

Position
  • Equatorial: 05h12m13.23s, -32d41m39.7s (Gaia)
  • Galactic: l=235.64, b=-34.09
Finding Chart:
Burwitz et al (1996).
Brigntness:
Optical: G=17.6 (Gaia); X-rays: 2.8x10-12 ergs cm-2s-1 (4XMM-DR11)
IP Credential:
**** (Confirmed) The spin period is firmly established from X-ray and optical (including polarimetric) observations. However, there is no spectroscopic or precise measurement of the orbital period, likely around 3.45 hr.
Periods:
  • Orbital: 0.144 d = 3.45 hr = 12400 s, from optical photometry (?).
  • Spin: 0.009994 d = 14.39 min = 863.5 s, from optical photometry.
  • Others: Hint of 928.1 s sideband period.
Inclination:
?
Distance:
2550 (2150-2990) pc (Gaia EDR3; parallax: 0.341+/-0.070 mas)
