SkyView image of Swift J183920.1-045350 (see important notes).

  • Equatorial: 18h39m19.98s, -04d53m53.3s (Gaia)
  • Galactic: l=27.19, b=+0.45
Finding Chart:
Optical: G=18.5 (Gaia); X-rays: 2.0x10-12 ergs cm-2s-1 (4XMM-DR11)
IP Credential:
**** (Confirmed): The detection of 449.7 s spin period in the X-rays and the 459.89 s beat period in the optical, plus the X-ray and the optical spectra, all show this to be an IP.
  • Orbital: ~5.6 hr (infered from the orbital and the spin; the ZTF photometry shows a period of 5.448 hr or one of its one-day aliases.
  • Spin: 0.005205 d = 7.495 m = 449.7(6) s seen in X-rays.
  • Others: 0.0053228 d = 7.6648 m = 459.89(13) s beat period seen in optical photometry.
