of V597 Pup (see important notes)
- Position
-
- Equatorial: 08h16m17.96s,
-34d15m24.9s (Gaia)
- Galactic: l=252.53, b=+0.55
- Finding Chart:
- Warner & Woudt (2009)
- Brigntness:
- Optical G=20.0 (Gaia); X-rays: 9.3x10-15 ergs cm-2s-1 (4XMM-DR11)
- IP Credential:
- ** (Possible): While the orbital period is beyond doubt, the 524 s
signal was originally detected when accretion component couldn't have
been the dominant light source (an eclipse was not obvious then), and
weakened as the post-nova became fainter and a deep eclipse revealed
itself. This is strange for a spin signal of an IP.
- Periods:
-
- Orbital: 0.11119 d = 2.6687 hr = 9607 s, seen in optical photometry.
HJD = 2454888.3280 + 0.11119E
(Warner & Woudt 2009)
for the eclipse minimum.
- Spin ?: 524 s ?
- Others:
- Inclination:
- High (eclipsing)
- Distance:
- >1.65 kpc (DR2 parallax uncertain)
- 4800 (2900-6800) pc (Gaia EDR3; parallax: 0.303+/-0.395 mas)
