Contest: 5 days, 5 ways to win NASA Bandz!

If you haven’t seen the shaped-rubber-band craze, then you either: 1) live in a cave, 2) don’t have kids, or 3) haven’t seen a kid in the past year.  As it turns out, our Division has obtained some NASA Bandz to commemorate some of the missions within NASA’s Physics of the Cosmos program.  These are very rare bandz, and we wanted to share them with our friends in social media. The missions represented here are The International X-ray Observatory (IXO), LISA (the triangle shape), and our work with dark energy (the W).

We are partnering with our friends at NASA Universe Education and the James Webb Space Telescope to bring you 5 days to win 5 sets of the Physics of the Cosmos NASA Bandz!

Each day this week (Monday through Friday), one of our social media outlets (Blueshift’s Facebook, Blueshift’s Twitter, NASA Universe Education’s Facebook, NASA Universe Education’s Twitter and the James Webb Space Telescope’s Facebook) will ask you to respond to a question, and your answer will be your entry into the contest.

Friday’s Featured Site: NASA Universe Education on Facebook

Here’s how to play:

1. One of the participating sites will be featured each day – check any of the sites listed below each morning to find out which one is featured that day (we’re in Eastern time – “morning” could be anywhere between 8AM and 11AM Eastern Standard Time).
2. Follow or “like” the featured site, if you don’t already.
3. Read the daily question (and the question will change each day).
4. Either send an @-reply (for Twitter) or comment on the question’s post (for Facebook).

A few rules:

1. We reserve the right to reject entries that are offensive or that are inappropriate for a NASA-sponsored site.
2. Only one entry per person per day.
3. You may only win once in this contest to give everyone else a chance. But please keep playing if you haven’t yet won!
4. Entries for a given day will be accepted until 11:59:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.
5. A random winner will be selected every day from the entries submitted to the featured site to receive 5 sets of Physics of the Cosmos NASA Bandz (15 Bandz total).

It’s not a requirement, but we would love it if the winners shared a fun picture of their NASA Bandz when they receive them!
