AH Mensa = 1H0551-819

A finding chart for AH Men

SkyView image of AH Men (see important notes)

Position
  • Equatorial: 06h11m44.07s, -81d49m24.1s (J2000)
  • Galactic: l=293.78, b=-28.24
Finding Chart:
Buckley et al. (1993)
Brigntness:
Optical V~13.4; fx (2-10 keV)~1.5-3x10-11?
IP Credential:
* (Doubtful): Although it does have a complex set of periods, the UV spectrum looks like an optically thick disk with wind. Moreover, in archival RXTE observations, it is not detected at the originally suggested level.
Periods:
  • Orbital: 0.123 d = 2.95 hr = 10630 s, seen in optical photometry.
    HJD = 2449348.8660 + 0.1229934(6)E
(Patterson 1995) for minimum light, although Buckley et al. found 3.34 hr.
  • Spin ?: 1040 s? 2080 s?
  • Others: Positive superhump? (3.053 hr).
Inclination:
?
Distance:
?
