Jeff Volosin is the Project Manager for the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) mission. Over the past 27 years, Jeff has held a variety of positions in the Federal government and aerospace industry. Before joining TESS, he served as NASA's Deputy Division Chief for Space Communications, which encompassed oversight of NASA's Network of Tracking & Data Relay Satellites (TDRS), ground based tracking antennas distributed throughout the world, as well as the development of advanced laser communications flight systems.

Jeff has spent half his career supporting Earth and Space Science robotic spacecraft development and operations both at the Goddard Space Flight Center and at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency (NOAA) Satellite Operations Facility–and–half his career supporting human spaceflight including almost 10 years as a systems engineer and life support engineer, studying future human missions to the Moon and Mars.

Jeff graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology in 1986 with a Space Science degree. He has served as a System Engineer, Project, Program Manager and Senior Leader both at NASA and in industry. For the past 10 years, he has also served as an Adjunct Professor in the Astronautical Engineering Department of Capitol College, teaching Graduate and Undergraduate courses in Systems Engineering and Spacecraft Design.
