Black Hole-Black Hole Waveform Catalog

Note: This catalog will be continually expanded. We invite authors of additional studies who wish to contribute waveforms to contact the Waveform Catalog Curator, John Baker.

Format: Data files containing the waveforms are in a simple, three-column ASCII format: {time, Re(h2,2), Im(h2,2)}, where h2,2 is the waveform's (2,2) mode, that is, the coefficient of the (l=2,m=2) spin-(-2)-weighted spherical harmonic. Conversion to the actual strain (h+, hx), as observed by a detector at a specific inclination relative to the source, is straightforward: the following executable will perform the conversion:

Conversion tool: [windows binary | linux binary | C++ source code | Perl script ]

Invoke with the following syntax:

getDetectorStrain.pl <input_data> <total redshifted mass (M_Sun)> <luminosity distance (Mpc)> <inclination (degs)> <polarization (degs)>
