AMEGO Mission Concept Workshop
May 8-9, 2017
Goddard Space Flight Center
The medium energy gamma-ray band is the next frontier in space-based gamma-ray astrophysics with many extreme phenomena peaking in that energy range. The All-Sky Medium Energy Gamma-ray Observatory (AMEGO) mission concept is being developed to provide excellent continuum sensitivity between 200 keV and 10 GeV and a wide field of view to provide new capabilities in time domain astrophysics. In addition, AMEGO will provide exciting new capabilities in nuclear line spectroscopy and gamma-ray polarization.
We will meet over 2 days at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center to discuss the latest sub-system, instrument and mission studies, performance simulations, and science motivation. This team meeting will be the beginning of the efforts towards a Probe mission white paper for the 2020 Decadal Survey.
Location
NASA GSFC Recreation Center
Registration and Abstracts Submission
The registration and abstract deadline is April 10, 2017, but please register as early as possible (especially non-US citizens) so that we can start the process to arrange badges to access Goddard. There is no charge for the workshop, but a small contribution for meeting refreshments will be collected onsite.
