Roman Technical Working Groups Signup
The technical working groups for the Roman Mission are designed to enable Roman-affiliated scientists and members of the scientific community to interact on issues related to the development of the Roman Mission. Membership of the Roman technical working groups is a requirement to join any individual working group.
At this time, two working groups are soliciting members: the Calibration Working Group and the Software Working Group.
The Calibration Working Group meets biweekly and is tasked with: Advising the Project on issues concerning Wide Field Instrument performance and data quality; Maintaining knowledge of expected calibration accuracies; Following ground tests and support evaluation of their results as appropriate; Developing on-orbit calibration plan tailored to meeting Mission science objectives; Creating ad-hoc study teams to address specific questions; and report regularly to broader Roman community.
The Software Working Group is charged with enumerating and prioritizing the software procedures and additional data products, beyond the standard processing pipeline and data products that will be provided by the Science Operations Center.
