How far up the eastcoast can you see the launch .

Not sure. I once watched a launch from the beach south of Melbourne, about 50 miles away, and I had a real clear view of it. I would guess they might be visible from a few hundred miles away.

I have seen it a few times from here in Jacksonville. I would Guess somewhere in Southern Georgia would be the limit.

We saw the last shuttle launch from here in Cherry Point N.C.! Including SRB seperation.
I believe the critical factor is the inclination of the intended orbit, the more northerly the shuttle has to travel to reach the intended orbit the better for east coast viewers.
It should not be too difficult to develope a formula/program to calculate the area of shuttle visibility during launch.

Hello. Does anyone know what cable t.v. station/network will be carrying the launch with air to ground communication? (on the east coast in the D.C. area)
