||||| Monday, January 21, 2002 - 02:25 pm I plan to come to FL to watch the launch scheduled for 2/28/02 and want to get a tour of KSC. I understand we will not be allowed on the base to watch the launch, but will we be allowed on afterward? | |
||||| Tuesday, January 22, 2002 - 12:08 am If you go to: http://www.nasa.gov/centers/kennedy/launchingrockets/viewing.html They don't offer inside car passes but there are Launch Transportation Tickets which seem to involve a bus. There's touring info for Kennedy at: http://www.kennedyspacecenter.com/html/exhibits.html | |
||||| Tuesday, January 22, 2002 - 02:36 pm Actually, I work for the contractor that built the NCC to be installed on this servicing mission so I will be going on the bus to watch the launch. I was wondering if KCS would be open to give tours the day after the launch. Thanks for your help! | |
||||| Monday, January 28, 2002 - 07:21 pm I was just at the visitor center last week, and am pretty sure the visitor center and bus tour will be open the day after the launch. Entry into the visitor center used to be free, but since they turned operations over to a contractor, you need to pay for entrance. The bus tour is $26, and a special 'behind the scene tour' is about $45. | |
