Calorimeter Analog Processor

The CAP provides power to the detectors and amplifies their signals by a factor of 20,000, so they can be transmitted to the CDP for processing. It has two independent "sides", A and B, to provide some redundancy. The two sides are in the same physical enclosure, but are completely independent.

Here is a block diagram of one side of the CAP.

Each CAP side contains a Bias Supply; Vdd and Vss supplies for the cold JFETs; a JFET temperature controller; 16 channels of calorimeter amplifiers; power and signal channel for the anticoincidence detector; power conditioning; and housekeeping electronics.
