BAT Effective Area Curves
BAT Cal Memo 2002-03-05

Here are the BAT Effective area curves, as derived from GRMC
simulations of the detector plane.
The meanings are:
- "No Mask" - the area of all BAT detectors as a function of energy,
with no mask in front of the array.
- "Mask" - the area of BAT detectors, after subtracting the
absorption of the mask tiles.
- "Modulated" - the area of the BAT detectors which is sensitive to
imaging of sources. This is effectively "No Mask" minus "Mask". For
the purposes of the plot, the "Modulated" curve has been reduced by
about 5% for cosmetic reasons. In the data file below however, no
reduction has been applied.
Here is a data files with the same data.
The columns are:
(1) Energy (kev);
(2) Area (no mask);
(3) Area (mask)
(4) Area (modulated)
(areas in cm^2)
