RXTE Sky Slew Exposure Maps

Oct 2001

Here are exposure maps of the sky, in galactic coordinates, of the RXTE pointing direction. Note that the galactic longitude is reversed from its normal sense. The images have a logarithmic stretch from black to white, with the range noted. Note that this is the raw PCA pointing direction, and no attempt has been made to account for earth occults or SAA passages, which will significantly reduce the observing efficiency.

This is a histogram of the exposure levels, in units of counts per square degrees (note error on figure X axis).
