Frank Marshall writes: My blink test of the latest NS scans (March 15th = PD1899) reveals: * XTE J1819-254 is about 100 cps (=12 mCrab). * XTE J1710-281 is about 30 cps (= 4 mCrab). * XTE J1723-376 is about 600 cps (=75 mCrab). * The weak source near (265.6,-23.1) is still there. * No bright new sources. * There is a strong peak in the 10-15 keV band at 164,082,767. This might be related to XTE J1723-376 at the edge of the fov. Note: Conversion to mCrab takens into account the fact that PCU2 is off. Frank Craig Markwardt writes: Other things of interest for this observation: * KS 1731-26 is all but gone now. * The rapid burster is at 2800 ct/s/5PCU (= 280 mCrab) * XTE J1744-36 has faded to about 10 ct/s/5PCU (= 1 mCrab) * A source near the galactic center region is increasing in flux. In my source model, I attribute it to increases in XTE J1748-288 (a black hole candidate with superluminal jets), which increased from 150 to 230 ct/s/5PCU; and SGR A, which increased from 220 to 420 cts/s/5PCU. However, that region is highly confused, so this attribution may not be correct. * Could this be SAX J1747-2853 ? * The spike you mention at 164 082 767 probably is not XTE 1723. [ I haven't had a chance to look at it myself. ] That source should peak at about 164 082 783. NOTE: all rates are are corrected to 5 PCUs. There are some attitude problems in the data -- a few erroneous values -- but this does not appear to have significantly changed the results.
