Present PositionPRESENT POSITION: Head Office of Scientific Computing Computer Engineer and Alternate Center Security Officer(ACSO) for the Astrophysics Science Division. Brief BioMr. Newman has spent most of his computing career involved with system administration tasks in UNIX/Linux environments within Code 660. Mr. Newman currently works as a computer engineer for the Office of Scientific Computing which is part of the Astrophysics Science Division(ASD) within the Sciences and Exploration Directorate at Goddard Space Flight Center. His primary responsibility as computer engineer is to guide the IT direction for the High Energy Astrophysics Science Archival Research Center(HEASARC) by maintaining and planning IT computing, storage and network infrastructures to support the archival needs of past, present and future high-energy missions. The HEASARC facility serves approximately 30 TB of data to the astrophysics community.
