1994, MNRAS 267, 577-588.
- Type
- Observational: Optical photometry.
- Object(s)
- AE Aqr.
- Results
- The white dwarf is spinning down at a rate of 5.64e-14 s/s over
a 14.5 yr baseline, and the spin timings confirm the white dwarf
origin with pulse timeing dely semiamplitude of 2.04s, implying a
0.9-1.0Msun white dwarf. Spin-down power is 6e33 I50 erg/s, exceeding
the accretion luminosity by a factor of ~120, which can accelerate
particles enough to explain radio and gamma-ray emissions.
