OBJECTIVE:
My
objective is to establish myself in an academic environment. It is my intention
not only to continue my present research program but also to expand that
program to include students. I believe that teaching at the graduate and
undergraduate levels is an important component of fostering their interest in
the sciences and communicating the excitement of research.
I possess a strong
background in observational X-ray astronomy. This includes a long program of
research on the X-ray properties of clusters and groups of galaxies along with
elliptical galaxies. My teaching experience includes observational astronomy
labs, teaching assistant for introductory mid-level astronomy courses. In
addition to classes I supervised undergraduates that were in the Research
Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program during my postdoctoral work.
