Craig Markwardt writes: Here is a summary of the galactic bulge observations over the past two months. * SAX J1750.0-2900 had a very short outburst near Mar 3, 2001, reaching a peak of 210 mCrab, but declining to < 10 mCrab within two weeks. However the source has brightened again, to 30 mCrab. This behavior is reminiscent of SAX J1747. * A new faint source, XTE J1759-220 has become more prominent. The best coordinates are (RA=269.854, DEC=-22.00). The source really became obvious in Feb 2001 at about 8 mCrab, but I think we were actually seeing it at a lower level since the start of the monitoring observations. I will need to reprocess to find out. An interesting fact is that this source is near the putative SGR 1800-23. The error box for this SGR is very long and thin. * As covered in David Smith's recent article, GRS 1758-258 has "turned off." The X-ray intensity had a precipitous drop around Feb 20 to ~5 mCrab from a more typical 20 mCrab, and appears to be subsequently declining further yet. * KS 1731-260 has turned off! The source had a remarkable segment of constant intensity in fall 2000 (normally fluctuates between 10-200 mCrab). December 2000 and January 2001 the source was behind the sun, but when we observed it February 2001 the source was not detectable (< 0.7 mCrab). * 4U 1820-30 has been at peak brightness over the past 2-3 weeks, around 600 mCrab. This is about 20% brighter than ever seen in the past 2.5 years. * After a trending incrase over the past 2.5 years, GX 3+1 appears to have flattened out around 400 mCrab within the past 6 months. * The Rapid Burster had another outburst, from which was saw several X-ray bursts. * We saw a very short outburst of XTE J1739-302, up to about 17 mCrab.
